Tester Quick Start This guide will help get you started in WAC with minimal documentation. Accounts
Accounts are created from the client. There is no web access or control panel. Supply...1. account name (lower case) 2. password (NOT the same as used elsewhere) 3. email address (used to recover password)
Your client keeps a copy of the password for gameplay. It is not secure, and the game should not be played on shared computers. Current State
WAC is currently in closed beta. Much of the world is rough draft (art, decoration, etc). A few major systems are missing (quests pvp zones). Client and servers are stable. Character appearance customization is incomplete.
Gameplay
Object of the game is to create a character, level the character (cap is 35), develop crafting skills (if desired), participate in a guild (if desired), and attain armor / weapons fit for the level.
Quests
PVP
Stromhold
Stromhold (lobby) is the main central complex with trainers, mail, auction house, vendors, bankers, money traders, soul crystal brokers (boss reward vendors), and portal mages for transportation. NOTE: For now stromhold is the center of transportation. As transportation services are installed, and as dungeon entrances are installed, Stromhold will still function as hub with other services being redundant.
World
World is zone based. 1 Stromhold (lobby), 21 Outposts (towns), 21 wilderness areas, 63 small caves (solo), 7 large cave dungeons (group), 7 crypt dungeons (group). Wilderness zones are large areas with mobs and entrances to small caves. Outposts (towns) have vendors and trainers. Large zone tunnels serve as entrance and exit to outpost zones.Small caves are soloable and will be used for quest missions. Large cave dungeons are for groups. These can be reached from Stromhold (lobby) via mages located in each wing. Formal entrances to be installed in outposts. Large crypt dungeons are for groups, also reached from Stromhold. Formal entrances to be installed in outposts.
User Interface
UI for WAC is similar to other games except that instead of icons for functions, names are spelled out in text. A button bar at top offers access to all functions. "C" Character Sheet - All character information "L" Leader Tool - Used to create a party Friends* - Friends window Journal* - Your notes
Database - Built in wiki-styled data on game "T" Tracking - Track a player on NPC in your zone. World Map - A few maps, evenutally the whole world. HELP - *** VERY OBSOLETE HELP FILES ***F1 to F6 is target a party member.Action bar at bottom. Click to pick up spell, command or item, and click on action bar to create an action button. Top 10 are keys 1 to 10. Bottom 10 do not auto hotkey. There is no "click to attack". Autoattack is pre-assigned as hotkey number one. <ESCAPE> brings up system menu for options and leaving the game.Use the <ENTER> key to bring up chat/game text window. <ENTER> again will open chat.
Chat Channels
/t text = trade channel /w text = world channel/g text = guild channel (only works if in a guild) /lfg text = looking for group channel /z text = zone channel /p text = party chat (others in your group) /s text = say to others within a local radius There are buttons to turn off chat channels. BUG: chat channels are all on at login, then need to be turned on and then off to disconnect from a channel. Chat remembers the last channel you talked on. If you talked on /party last and type text without specifying a channel, it will go out on party chat. There is NO whisper function.
Races
Race is selected at character creation. Races provide stat bonuses regardless of chosen class. Human = Multipurpose Dragonkin = Multipurpose Orc = Tank / Melee DPS Dwarf = Tank / Melee DPS AshElf = Caster / Healer DarkElf = Caster / Healer
Classes
Classes provide stat bonuses fitting the needs of the class. It is possible to mix and match racial and class bonuses for unusual builds. For example Dwarf Priest would get Dwarf racial bonus for tanking/DPS and mana/heal bonuses for being a Priest. Cloth Armor Priest = Holy Healer, fair DPS, excellent mana efficiency Necromancer = Unholy DPS with conjured companions Mage = Caster DPS, extremely powerful Leather Armor Druid = Multi-role but classified as Holy Healer Sorcerer = Caster DPS, very powerful Rogue = Melee DPS, very powerful Mail Armor Cleric = Holy Healer but respectable at melee DPS Defiler = Unholy melee DPS Ranger = Only class with bow, ranged DPS, tamed pets NOTE: ranger bow animation needs work, is out of synch with combat (too slow) Plate Armor Paladin = Holy Healer, strong tank DarkKnight = Unholy melee DPS Warrior = Very strong Tank/Melee DPS
Gear Weapons and Armor
Cloth - Very low protection Leather - Weak protection Mail - Very good protection, capable of off-tanking Plate - Best Protection, ideal for brawlers and tanks Armor Pieces Boots Leggings Chest Bracers Gloves Helm (mail and plate only) Weapon Pieces Axe (1h) Waraxe (2h) Mace (1h) Hammer (2h) Sword (1h) Claymore (2h) Dagger (1h) Polearm (2h)
Gear Grading
Junk - red - vendor trash drops Common - white - vendor gear and drops Uncommon - green - drops Rare - blue - *** CRAFTED ONLY *** Legendary - purple - dungeon reward gear Any wearable gear that has stats can be enchanted by a player enchanter to increase the stats and armor/damage of the gear. Enchanted blues made by a crafter then enchanted by an enchater (profession) are nearly identical quality to dungeon reward gear.
